Education Assistant, Substitutes The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually
Impaired Early Childhood Program is recruiting for Education Assistant,
Substitutes. EA subs assist with
instructional tasks in classroom.
Substitutes are on an “as-needed” and “on-call” basis. Applications will be accepted until filled. Registered Nurse The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually
Impaired Early Childhood Program is currently recruiting for an RN in
Albuquerque. This position will provide health care services to visually
and/or multiply impaired students in an educational pre-school setting.
New Mexico Board of Nursing Licensure is required, and eligibility for NM
Public Education Department licensure; minimum of two years’ experience,
preferably in pediatrics. 9‑month contract. Applications
accepted until filled. Early Childhood Classroom Teacher The
New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Early Childhood Program
is seeking an experienced and qualified teacher of the visually impaired for
our site-based preschool and kindergarten program. Early Childhood
experience is required. Special Education and TVI licensure are
preferred or willing to acquire TVI. Teacher would be responsible for
teaching, assessing and monitoring a classroom of VI and/or multiply impaired
students. Will be required to become Braille proficient. Full‑time,

SERVICES: Teacher
of the Visually Impaired - Technology Consultation The
New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Outreach Services
Division is currently recruiting for a Teacher of Students with Visual
Impairment who will travel to students’ school districts to provide
consultative services related to assistive technology to be used by students
with visual impairments, and/or multiple disabilities. The TVI consults
with TVI/COMs, classroom teachers, the assistive technology department in the
school district, and the student in applying computers and related assistive
technologies to support the teaching and learning to students with visual
impairments. They will use computer systems to run software, access,
generate, and manipulate data. NMSBVI is willing to support training to
upgrade technology skills. The position is 190 contracted days.
Must be eligible for certification in New Mexico and must meet NMSBVI’s
Braille proficiency requirement. Position available for the 2015-2016
